Frequently Asked Questions
What is your training style?
I believe in a combination of strength training, pilates, explosiveness training, and core + glute activations to create a powerful foundation of authentic strength.
The workouts on the platform reflect this. Our Strength classes use heavy weights (or, in our bodyweight training program for those on the road, cadence and time under tension) to increase the load on our muscles to demand adaptation and therefore elicit growth.
Our Pilates classes are challening, embodied workouts designed to improve muscle stabilizer performance, body awareness, and coordination under fatigue.
Our HIIT classes are designed to do what most people stop training when they leave high school sports: explosiveness. This is such a powerful way to stay agile, increase your cardiovascular health, and train your body to recover in short periods of time.
Included throughout these major training styles are pilates style glute and core activations to help strenghten your "powerhouse" that fuels all of life's movements.
There are so many classes. Where do I start?
If you are training for something specific: check out our Structured Training Programs.
--> If you don't have access to equipment, the Dirtbag Strength Series was designed for you. A progressive bodyweight training program designed to help you not just maintain your strength while on the road or traveling, but deeply improve it.
--> Core x Climber is a 21 day core program, designed for rock climbers but certainly pertaining to anyone wanting to deepen their core strength and awareness. This challenge builds core strength the way climbers actually use it: focusing on dynamic stability, rotation, anti-rotation, and anti-lateral flexion. Designed to deepen your core strength and proprioception.
If you're not necessarily training for anything specific, but want to build and maintain your strength so that you can say yes to anything? Then follow our Weekly Plan.
--> Our weekly plan consists of 3 days of Strength, 2 days of Pilates x Strength, and 1 day of HIIT, with mobility and glute + core activations mixed in. Purposely curated to push you each week. Less than 40 minutes a day.
Want to browse?
--> Our Class Library allows you to filter by duration, format, and equipment so that you can find exactly what you're looking for.
Want something quick?
--> Run Strong is an assortment of glute activations designed to be done before a long run to improve performance and reduce injury.
--> Our Mini-Challenges are equal parts physical challenge as they as mental challenge. Try it for yourself - this is resiliency training in action.
I live in a van/sailboat/tiny house/on the road. Are there workouts for me?
Oh hello, fellow dirtbag. Haven't you come to the right place.
After many years living in environments where I had no gym access, limited time, and limited space, I became so frustrated by the lack of training programs that catered to my particular circumstance.
That is why I developed the Dirtbag Strength Series, a 30 day training program designed for people like us. No equipment, limited space, 30 minutes or less. F***** hard workouts.
I believe that you don't have to choose between prioritizing your strength and a life that inspires you.
What are your qualifications?
I am a certified Pilates Instructor, HIIT instructor, RYT-200, and a NBHWC Certified Health Coach and Holistic Nutritionist. I have spent years coaching hundreds of individuals pursuing their own biggest dreams.
I have also logged thousands of miles backpacking through varied terrain and guided backcountry trips for youth and adults alike.
I've trained for cross-country ski marathons in Antarctica, mountaineering expeditions in the Pacific Northwest, and thru-hiking across the American Southwest.
I know what it takes not only to train physically for these big goals, but how to train for the mental resilience necessary to navigate and embrace true discomfort.
